Favorite way to stay active (outside of the gym)?
I think I can say with confidence that I’m a gym rat (till death do us a part), but I do love an evening stroll when the sun is down and it’s cool outside.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve overcome?
Ah, there’s a few. When I was 11 years old I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, which is a ton of work to manage. Then in 2024, I decided to finally shift my mindset and live authentically and start testosterone to transition from female to male. That is why my mission is to help people shift their limiting mindset towards a growth mindset.
What is your current wellness goal?
My current wellness goal is to step on stage with the guys all while managing my diabetes and keeping my blood glucose in check. I do this by keeping my insulin sensitivity high, my body fat low, my nutrition, recovery and stress management on point - and re-assessing every couple of weeks what is working or not!
What’s something most people would be surprised to learn about you?
That I was born a female - most people don’t believe it when I tell them. I’m 6 foot tall and carry a ton of muscle. I try to lead from the front, and show other transmen and people living with type 1 diabetes that an insane physique and a healthy body is attainable.
Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
I’ve always said “you have to train your brain,” - but I didn’t start practicing that until a few years ago when I decided to stop having a victim mindset. I started to learn more about stoicism and it has changed my life.
My best advice:
Take steps towards the life you WANT to live, instead of running from the life you don’t want to live - that small change in perception will change your life.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone who just wants to live an overall healthy life?
Unwind, disconnect and laugh with your favorite people. In a world of instant gratification, social media, and everyone being in a rush - try to slow down and find the joy in things. Not every day will be perfect, you’ll forget your lunch bag at home - don’t stress the small stuff. Go grab a healthy lunch at the store. Disconnect from work - it’ll be there on Monday. Find things that calm you, that slow you down, that make you live in the present moment.
What’s one thing you’ve learned in the past year—whether about functional medicine, health coaching, or entrepreneurship?
As someone who’s passionate about performance, body composition, and helping others feel and function better, I used to think training and nutrition were the pillars. And don’t get me wrong—they’re absolutely essential. But as I study more about pathophysiology and functional health, here’s what I’ve come to understand on a much deeper level: “calories in, calories out” doesn’t always work, and that “I’m doing everything right and not losing weight” really is a thing and that “I have brain fog, I can’t lose weight, my muscles hurt and I can’t sleep” isn’t just “in your head.”
Stress, inflammation, the gut, hormones - all central to almost every chronic condition we see today. With the right knowledge, support, and daily effort, they can be managed—and even reversed.
What’s your favorite aspect of coaching?
This one’s easy - it’s watching my clients' confidence build - it’s seeing them smile in their check-in photos now.
